Dato' Muhammad Tahir bin Abdul Jabbar who lived in Kota Tinggi shifted to Muar and from there, he moved to Lagih. Here, he married Piah binti Abdullah and were blessed with three children: Lijah, Saa'ijah, and Karang. While his wife was 6 months into her pregnancy with Karang, Muhammad Tahir went to his sister's (Sara binti Tok Abdul Jabbar) place in Kota Buruk to seek medical treatment. However, he passed away after about 10 days at his sister's house. His remains were interred at Sungai Runtung.
